Microsoft wanted to raise awareness that their Windows Server product is now compatible with the PHP server-side programming language. The campaign sets up the relationship nicely.

Minimise Me

Microsoft wanted a microsite to drive downloads of their Windows Live Messenger instant messaging client. The site had to be fun and have viral potential. Minimise me allows users to create a custom smiley avatars or to pick one from the celebrity gallery.

Microsoft Office pod

Microsoft needed an eye catching concept for a touch screen kiosk that would tour the UK in shopping malls and train stations to sell Microsoft Office to families. We did this by showing how Microsoft Office can be used by the whole family, from taking that essay to the level to making short work of the family finances.

It’s not often that I can say that I have enjoyed localising someone else’s work, but when it involves a re-shoot with a 5 camera panoramic rig on a boat cruising along the river Thames and driving around London’s West End in air sprung truck it’s not so bad.

Due to the success of the Microsoft On the Map campaign, the work was entered for Cannes Lion and won it’s category. I produced this video as part of the entry.

Slack-O-Meter

MSN produced 10 short videos featuring the comedian Ed Burn to promote their MSN Video service. They then needed a way of drive traffic to the videos and requested a concept that could potentially go viral. The Slack-0-metre site asked users to pledge to watch the videos (at work) and then tells them how much of their employer’s money they would have wasted by doing so.

Microsoft wanted a campaign to drive downloads of their Windows Live Toolbar. The concept focused on the custom button feature that allows users to search numerous sites such as Facebook, flickr and eBay.

Costa luz Spain directory

Approached with an idea for a site, but a tiny budget, the solution had to be simple yet effective. Costa Luz Spain provides a directory service that specifically caters for expats living in the Costa de Luz region of Spain. The site was built cheaply and uses an excel spreadsheet for as instead of a database, but it works.

Teletext

Teletext pioneered iDTV (on Freeview, Sky and Cable platforms) creating information services and generating revenue from advertising during its infancy. I was responsible to designing usable and bandwidth efficient applications as well as contributing to the company’s online offerings.

This comes from my interest in design across wide range of disciplines - with a particular love of graphic design and photography.
